Mimosa Studios is hosting some awesome kids’ camps this summer! Drop your children off at 9:00 am and pick them up at noon. We will show them how to paint really fun projects, provide them with a healthy snack and do a second craft project before pick-up.

We have something for everyone, ages 8 and up. All camps are from 9:00 am – Noon. Each camp includes a piece of painted pottery, a second craft project and a healthy and delicious snack. $30 per child per day. 20% discounts with each additional child or additional camp days. Special Treat on Mother’s Day

And for a special treat on Mother’s Day, May 13th, we are hosting our ever popular Mimosa Mother’s Day! We will be serving mimosas, coffee, tea, juice and treats while you relax among family, friends and fellow painters and paint your heart away. Moms love this fun and popular event!

Reservations are being taken now for three seatings: 10:00 am – Noon; 12:30 – 2:30 pm and 3:00 – 5:00 pm. Call or email the studio to reserve your space.

• We have beautiful Seder Plates and Kiddush Cups for Passover which starts April 6.
• Easter Sunday is April 8 and we have lots of sweet bunnies and Easter eggs to paint.

March 26-30 is Spring Break!

We will be offering daily giveaways and drawings for cool art supplies and will have snacks and treats all week. Plus, everything will be 15% off, March 26-30.

We are still at the ready to help your school or organization with fundraising activities. We helped both Laurelhurst and Ainsworth Schools with some auction projects.

Birthday Parties at Mimosa Studios

We have lots of ideas and offer discounts to fit your budget. We help parent volunteers design and create class projects and provide on-site painting kits so projects can be done right in the classroom. We have tons of options — table settings, serving dishes, garden ware, tea sets, etc.

Children’s Birthday Parties

Children’s birthday parties include a wide selection of ceramics to choose from, a rainbow of bright colors, and all kinds of brushes and stencils! We also have books to help with artistic inspiration and ideas.

Special Souvenir Birthday Plate

We also decorate a special souvenir plate for the birthday child.  Each party guest signs the plate and we decorate and personalize it for the guest of honor!

Our birthday parties last around 1.5 hours. Many use the first hour to paint and the last half-hour for treats and presents. It is totally up to you how you use your time. We will be there to help with the party and make sure everyone has a fun experience.  We’ve hosted hundreds of birthday parties in our studio in the past ten years and take pride in watching kids create some of the most amazing art we’ve seen.

What Can Kids Paint?

We’ve got our shelves stocked with hundreds of bisque pottery pieces. We’ve got snakes, bears, cats, dogs, ballerinas, cars, butterflies, monkeys, penguins, dinosaurs, and more. Our shelves are stocked with hundreds of figurines for you to paint.

Figurines are great for birthday parties! Kids love to paint their favorite animals, letting their imaginations run wild with the vivid paint colors, stencils, brushes and sponges we have on hand.

Mimosa Studios is a perfect venue for a first date.  Our pottery painting studio is a low key atmosphere where you don’t have to stress about uneasy first date stuff.  Unlike most dates, you have the buffer of painting pottery…so the typical uncomfortable moments of silence slip away and you can actually be yourself and have fun.  It’s the perfect icebreaker. Nice!

Friday Nights We’re Open Until 9pm

We’ve got extended hours every Friday evening and you are welcome to bring your own food and drink to enjoy while you paint. The last Friday of the month is Margarita Night at Mimosa.  You pay the cost of painting your piece—the drinks are on us!  Many folks prefer to make it a Saturday afternoon date or take advantage of one of our special events. Check our calendar for upcoming pottery painting schedule.

We’re conveniently located on Alberta Street within easy walking distance of a wide variety of shops and restaurants. Girls Night Out

Maybe a night out with the girls is in order? Get re-connected with your girlfriends with a night of painting and conversation at Mimosa Studios.  Or need to spend some time with mom?  We’ve got you covered. Bring her to our cozy studio and relax for the afternoon.  It’s a great way to spend quality time with your relatives — whether it’s mom, daughter, sister, aunt, the grandchildren, or dad.  We’ve seen almost every combination of relatives have a great time painting pottery together.

A Benefit for De Paul Youth and Family Center

25% of all proceeds from our anniversary party will be donated to De Paul Youth and Family Center. De Paul’s Youth and Family Center’s services include: assessment and evaluation of abuse and addiction issues, gender specific treatment programs for boys and girls, family therapy services, and integrated mental health services.

About Mimosa Studios

Mimosa Studios started at my kitchen table with more painted pots than cooking pots and a small kiln in the basement. My love of doing art with others expanded to Alberta Street with the goal of creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for people of all ages and skill levels to relax, have fun, and paint pottery. We opened just one month after 9.11. at the beginning of the emerging Arts District. Last Thursday was just starting as a neighborhood art walk.

Over the years, our family-owned studio has hosted more than one hundred birthday parties, wedding and baby showers, office parties, school auction projects, off-site parties, and our famous Margarita Parties (last Friday of the month). We’ve also seen some incredible pottery painting by people of all ages: from a vibrant hand-print of a newborn to intricately painted pottery pieces, we are continually amazed at the art our customers create.

Mimosa Studios is proud to support community efforts, offering discounts and donations to schools and community groups working to support children and strengthen families.
