How does painting your own pottery work?
It’s easy! You just pick the pottery piece you want to paint (the hard part is choosing-we have over 200 different pottery styles to paint!) Then we show you how to use the paints and help you with ideas. You leave the finished piece with us and we glaze and fire it for you so you can pick up your finished pottery in 2-5 days.
Do I need a reservation to paint?
Walk-ins are welcome. For groups of 3 or more, please call ahead at 503-288-0770 to reserve your space or contact us online. Weekends are usually busier than weekdays.
Can I purchase a piece of pottery that is already painted?
Yes! Both the owner and studio manager have their painted pottery pieces for sale in the studio. They will also make custom ceramic pieces for you — great for gifts!
What are your hours?
We are open 7 days a week. 11-6pm Monday through Thursday, 11-9pm Friday, 10-6pm on Saturday, and 11-5pm on Sunday. Friday nights are party nights, open until 9pm. You can walk-in or book parties during our regular business hours and private parties are available for reservation during off hours! Please check our calendar for the most up-to-date information on hours and events.
Is it safe to eat off my finished pottery?
Yes! The finished pieces are completely food safe. Our paints are non-toxic and are totally safe for young children and for making baby hand and foot prints.
Do I have to know how to paint?
Absolutely not! It’s fun, it’s easy, and we can show you everything you need to know! Here’s an overview on how it works.
What if I make a mistake?
Our friendly, knowledgeable staff is always available for hands on help so we can answer any questions you have or help with mistakes. Most paints easily wipe off so you can start again.
How much does it cost?
Each piece is priced separately and the cost includes everything — the paint, glazing, firing, and studio time. You can use as many colors as you like and stay as long as you want. Small tiles, ornaments and magnets start at $5.
What if I don’t finish my piece on my first visit?
No problem. If you don’t finish painting you pot during your first visit, no worries! We will keep it safe for you until you can return to finish.
Do you ship pottery for projects around the country?
We do not ship pottery since it is very fragile and could be broken during shipping. We suggest finding a local pottery studio in your area, and maybe asking them about finding the pieces you are looking for.
Are kids welcome?
Of course! We are extremely family-friendly! Our motto is if you can hold a brush, you can paint! And of course we do baby hand and foot prints for even our smallest newborns.
